You guys are having way too much fun! :D
I'll have a go. My pictures are from a story, the story of the vampires of Quebec Canada (lol!)
These vampires are angelic in looks, but of course like all vampires, are only out there looking for one thing:

You can tell a vampire by it's very pale skin, but also from it's eyes:

Never stare into the eyes of a vampire, for they can hypnotize you:

Vampires have all kinds of powers, like the ability to levitate objects:

Yet ever are they creatures of mystery:

Never come to a vampire when called, for that is how they hunt:

Lastly, vampires have one secret above all... and that is to be human again, and so miss things like flowers, and other things that grow in the sun, because this is a place they are forever forbidden to experience again, so they shall always yearn and dream of the day:

Happy halloween everyone! :D

Hey everyone,
I'm new to the board, but wanted to post some halloween photos I took and worked up in photoshop. These were taken at a friend's house who loves halloween.
Feel free to leave any comments, good or bad...

In the first one I am wondering why that picture has so much digital noise in it. I think I know why:
ISO 200, 1/13th at F/5.3, spot metering, +2/3rds exposure compensation
That picture was likely very underexposed and I am betting that you tried to save it in Photoshop. Your +2/3rds and spot metering settings were attempts to try to get more light into the camera, but likely did not work for you, but in this case, against you. One of the most important aspects of photography is knowing what to meter against and then knowing how to meter. No worries, this comes in time and with practice.
In the second, it has a ton less noise, yet is at ISO 400 (higher the ISO setting, the more noise a picture has). We now see that when a photographer makes an improper judgment, the error can cause more issues than if an experienced photographer pushes the envelope (like when knowing what ISO to set a camera to under dark conditions, or sometimes higher ISO is better than an underexposed picture that you have to try to save later).
All that we learn in the course here is centered around two aspects... how to take a proper exposure and then how to use techniques that increase picture interest. :)
For me, I like the 2nd one better than the first.

If it were not for all the noise, I would say that 2nd one is pretty cool. I might have tried to change the lighting around a little bit too. I'm not trying to sound negative, I really do like it, I am just trying to give a little constructive criticism.
