Great! In cases like this, where you are learning a concept, its not important that every aspect of the picture be perfect, but that you accomplish your goal. Later, when you want to start "making" pictures instead of "taking" pictures, and you consciously decide to use a technique to get a specific effect, that's when you start to put it all together and think about things like tripods and settings and composition to put it all together.

The end effect is a creation you can call all your own.

Nice job!

You did a great job making the waterfall look silky. Now you will have to go back and reshoot this with the tripod. It looks like a great place to shoot.

This is great. Congrats. One thing you can do net time you get the chance, is take two shots with tripod. One that exposes for the sky, and one the rest. Then mearge them in PS. This will keep the sky from getting blown out. And/or use ND filters.

Janine - this is something I'm still trying to capture. I always managed to be around waterfalls at high noon on a bright sunny day. I think I need to get up earlier. Congratulations.
