Hi
I decided to have a look at an old camera ccd . Pic 1 is the 1/4" ccd mounted to a drive pcb,i had removed the i/r filter to get a clear view of the chip.
pic 2 I wondered how close could i get ?.not very impressive , very messy.
pic 3 After a clean up and repositioning everthing, taken with low light and high iso, bit grainy
pic 4 The final edition, please leave cc

How cool to actually see these so up close. I really like the first one and the last one. The second one seems as if it is shot through glass or something and the third is a little grainy. Did you use a high ISO on the third one? Very cool subject!

yes lensbaby i used low light and high iso for the third pic . I was trying to cut out the glare on the wires caused by the high light levels. It kind of worked to bring up the detail of the wire joints, but failed on the rest of the picture by making it very grainy.

but it is still very cool. I love to see things in photos that we normally do not get to see.

Thanks for sharing. My man is about to pull apart and old Canon 300D. The sensor was so fungus ridden that Canon said I needed a whole new one. The cost was huge, hence it was not repaired.
