This photo was taken at a barn fire my department was operating at. I cropped in on the platform of our ladder truck and changed it to B&W

You could have increased picture interest by cropping less and taking advantage of the rule of thirds. By cropping less, you would have possibly added perspective, so that we could maybe see how high he was or how big that cherry picker is or if it was attached to the back of a fire truck.

You also could have changed angles and maybe included a part of the barn in the photo, if the man was close enough or turned it into an action shot if water was shooting out the end of the hose.
