Hey Everyone,
Here are two photos I took at a recent diaster drill I was asked to assist in with photographing the event.

Hi Woody,
Thanks for sharing. I like the images, but would also like to see a version without the softness layer. I think it would give it a little extra punch. Nothing wrong with these mind you, I think these would look better with a little more edge. Is the white stuff snow, or some kind of fire retarder foam?

Larry,
Thanks for the compliment and feedback. I appreciate it. The white stuff that you see is foam from the multiple foam units that were flowing.
I have a question, you mentioned the softness layer?? I'm not sure what you mean by that if you can help me out??
Thanks,
Woody

Hi Woody,
I thought that was foam. It sure has a look like snow, but it looks to much like summer in the scene with the green grass.
It looks like something was used to soften the image such as running a gaussian blur filter. The image is in good focus, but the contrast has been reduced and the overall image has a slightly soft feel. There's nothing wrong with this, as I do it on almost all portraitures. The reason I said layers, is most of us layers on a image when editing in post. I hope I haven't confused you more than helped.
Larry
