I would not really call these HDR pictures, but rather tone mapped... and some really nice pictures to boot! :D

I use Photomatix, it is an awesome program. One takes 3 or more pictures at different exposures, then combines them using either tone mapping or the much more aggressive effect of HDR on them.
Very interesting category of photography!

Hi Janine I use Dynamic Photo HDR for most of my tone mapping HDR.I have added a link to the website where you can use trial copy but when you purchase latest software it has lots of features and adjustments and its very cheap also.
I use anything from 1 to 5 exposures depending on what I'm looking for.I am still new to all this myself and love experimenting.

OK I have what Jerry uses and really do not care for it. I am going to have to try that software out. I love HDR photos....I love the unrealness to them.

well, i just got this software - dynamic photo hdr - same as owen and its easy to use and the results are AMaZING!! you can make them 'real' looking with a bit more pop or even really 'unreal' ... its easy to use too!!! i only had it for less than an hour and i have already made photos look beter than i ever did using Photomatix for months!!!

The beauty of this type of software is what you can achieve from a photo,I know some people don't like editing I never use to but what I don't do is add or remove things from an original photo, add new sky etc I don't believe in that but changing colours and effects are cool.

YEAH - more software to learn and play with. HDR is something I would love to try. I'm very impressed at what's been shown here, just might have to break down and give it a go.

Hi Nick hope you are enjoying the HDR the second one I really like first one in my opinion is a bit over toned....
Thanks Owen for your response, I think you are right, if it was a chicken it would have been over cooked. I think I've need to praties some more. Maybe turn the gas down a bit. To answer your question yes I sit up half the knight plying with HDR
Ps I've use to live in Somerset England, know I live in Australia.. I also use a Sony a350 with the kit lenses

What is the difference between HDR & tone mapped?
Thanks in advance
