So I want to shoot a monochromatic photo, and for some reason today I am stumped! Any ideas?

Monochromatic as in a B&W or a shade of another single colour?

I am not sure why, but for some reason, in my head now, I have an image of a portrait shot of a man's head on a background of old and weathered bricks... a mild HDR effect and completed in sepia or strong tones of B&W. Both are monochrome.

Sorry, its 4:39 in the morning and I am in the middle of having my morning coffee... lol.

Monochromatic meaning all of the same color, but different shades, tints etc. I did find one already. Thanks for the ideas...yours sounds great. We are at this point not allowed to use any strobes/flash, and NO photoshop ..only to resize and that is it.

So, how did you desaturate? In camera B&W option?

No actually we had to just find something that had monochromatic colors in the actual photo. We are not allowed to desat. or use photoshop...only to resize. I did get an A. My avatar is my BOLD color photo. lol

Oh I see what you mean.

I think that I would have run right to a local newspaper and looked for an interesting element. There are few things more monochromatic than an off white paper and black print. Some interesting possibilities there, if you wish to really limit yourself in that manner. Interesting challenge!
