Very nice! I like the water droplets in #4 and 5, and that last shot is particularly artistic.

Gorgeous! I think I saw your water sculpture with the wrapping paper somewhere else a few months ago - was fascinated then as well!

Joseph, Probably a stupid question but how do you get the water coloured? I want to try it :)

I have no macro experience, so all I can say is that those shots are impressive - particularly the drop ones. Nice work!

Thanks for all the comments everyone. I hope to do more water sculptures in the near future and post some more.
laura, the colors are done serveral ways. The Christmas colors photo was done with a clear bowl and Christmas wrap underneath it. It's just relections you see in the water.
There are others that I use food coloring in the water. I have also used coffee, milk, prune juice and may other liquids to get colored affects. I use food coloring also. Sometimes in PS I will change the hue. Thanks for the question.

I like them peeper. I love the gold color. How'd you get that? Your focus is good, they are both a little under exposed. A little more light and the focus would have been better, You can bring up the exposure in PS or other, then sharpen a little to help these two out. How long you been doing water drops?
Here is one I look this morning. It's not the best, I'm way out of practice to say the least. I would like to see more of these if you have them peeper. Also tell me what your setup is like.

Thanks Coffee. The light is low on my water drop shots because I was shooting in total darkness. I was trying to bounce colors with my speedlight flash.I did brighten them a bit in PS. I guess I didn't Dr. it enough. Any way, I just wanted to see what you thought about the photos in general. I've only been shooting photography as a serious hobby for about a year now. I really enjoy researching and trying new things. I shot a couple macro water drops awhile back but I did it in full auto using a wireless remote. This time I tried using some new tricks. Not quite as nice as yours but that's why I'm here. Do you think one of them would be good for my lesson 5?
Is this one any better? I'm trying to create ambient light.

If memory serves, lesson 5 is on composition right? If so, I don't think this is the best subject for composition assignements. There isn't much composing to these shots really. These would make great shots for stopping the action, or shutter control.
Yes I love this last shot of yours. It has much better focus and love the color tones. If you are interested here is a link to some of my water macros. Third album down:

Hey Joseph, thanks for the links. I checked them out. You have some great shots. I am hopeful to learn some of your techniques. As I said before, I have only been using my D80 for about a year. I have built a website so my friends and family can easily view my work. Here is a link to it.

Well done on the site Keith! I had a long look around and I must say the site well layed out, easy to get around, and you have some great photos. I love the landscapes and architecture the best. Well done!
I did notice that your water drops on your site seem to present better than here for some reason. They are more crisp on your site. Maybe it's just the dark background. Not sure.
