Hi. This is a bit of a dual purpose post. Firstly to plug my (newbie) photography site (still a work in progress) at http://www.iamrupert.com but also to seek some advice.
I previously tried to set the site up using Gallery2 but had aweful trouble uploading images (I'm guessing due to size), so I switched to Zenphoto which is great and simple - save for the very odd feature where images are not automatically rotated which is really frustrating.

Does anyone else have any other suggestions for software to create photo sites? Opensource would be good, and ultimately shopping cart, watermarking etc etc functionality would be good too. I run on a windows hosted platform.

Thanks!

Rupert

Rupert... no offense, but if you do not even know how to rotate or size a photo... you have a looooong way to go before you should be trying to make money from photography, my friend.

Learn the basics, and practice them until they are no harder to do than taking a breath... then think about trying to make money from it.

Jerry,

Thanks. Of course I know how to rotate photos.

The issue with Zenphoto is something to do with the PHP support for the rotation of images so even though I have rotated the images in Elements, the hosting software itself doesn't recognise that fact and displays them in the original un-rotated format.

Thanks,
Rupert

I like your photos but I had a heck of a time navigating your site and getting photos to load. May just be on my end though.

Hi Sobhana,

Thanks for taking the time to look and your feedback. I spent some time this holiday's over-hauling the site which I think should make it better now.

In case anyone is interested it's a Joomla based site with Zenphoto for the gallery function and a Joomla module (virtuamart) for the shop function. It's very much still a work in progress with a lot of tweaking and material needing to be sorted out but as a shell it's pretty there.
Thanks again,

Rupert
