Is it okay to submit a second photo for the course assignments in an attempt to better my grade? And better myself of course.

It was told to me that you can submit as many photos as you like, and I have. But....It's better to turn in one great one than 2 ok ones. That second photo can bring your score down if it isn't up to par with the other. So if you have one great one, go with that. If you have 2 of the same quality, then maybe.
Remember that there is no time limit. Take your time, and turn in the photos you are wild about and can't wait to turn in.
Remember, after you turn in your assigmements, you can go back at any time and turn in extra credit and boost that particular assignement score. Turn extra credit in the same way as the assignements. Can extra credit bring down you score? I don't know. You probably have to show that you learnt something from the instructors suggestions and comments on the original submitions. But in any case you can always email them and ask.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Joseph. I got feedback on a photo i submitted. I read the feedback I wanted to try again in hope of raising my grade. Think I will give it a go.

Thanks for the info Joseph. This is really very helpful. Are these rules/options written down anywhere in the course description or materials?
As a purely personal thing, I don't really care about the grade per se, only as it reflects my improvement or where I need work. However, the idea of resubmitting shots based on feedback now I see that as a real learning opportunity!
So are these rules written somewhere or to be worked out individually with your instructor?
thanks much,

I believe I remember reading somewhere that turning in extra credit is an option to everyone. I can't remember where though. You might look at your course information and see if it's there somewhere. The rest of the info I wrote above I got from my instructor after emailing him the same question Laura asked. But I know that Peter is very consistant in his approach, but you can always email him and ask these questions.

Thanks, if I find it written somewhere I'll let you know where. And I'll ask my instructor, Greg.
Thanks again Joseph for the quick response, much appreciated.

Yep, you were exactly right Joseph. The full info can be found in the Lesson 1: Introduction to Photography & General Terms.
It looks to be a learn to criterion course. That is, you can take the course and any part of it as many times as necessary until you reach at least their minimum standard of 80%. Here are some excerpts from the Intro.
"...Your tutor will carefully assess your work and award grades based on your results. You can repeat assignments to get better grades as many times as you like until you are satisfied with your score..."
"If you're not happy with your performance in a particular lesson, you may re-take it at the end of that lesson for a better score. If you have any questions, please contact your tutor.... To successfully complete the ProudPhotography Course with the Certificate you must reach at least 80% mark (144+ points of 180)."
