Plaing around with candle light, thought i'd try some refections in a mirror. I think a bigger mirror would be better.

I think it's a gorgeous capture of the light. Perhaps a bit more of the mirror reflection at the front of the candles, but I love it as it is !

Thank you...I agree about having more reflection though, it was a narrow mirror, will find a bigger one next time haha :)

I think you did a great job in capturing flames. Nice job.

I like it too. Good shot.
The only thing I would try on your next attempt, is something different with the angles. Maybe lower than the flame looking up. If you have a fisheye, or very wide lens maybe from the mirrors point of view. Perhaps through the heat of the flames so the glasses are distorted from the rising heat. Perhapes set it up so that one of the glasses is up side down above the flame. Then blow the candle out and have that small glass fill then overflow with smoke. How cool. Just some thoughts.
The first thing I do when I do still life is to get the shots I thought about before the shoot, then get real goofy with it and try a bunch of different things. I often find I like the later shots more.

I like it Laura. I agree with you that the reflection is lacking a bit but you captured the frames just right. A larger mirror might give you more photo angles and opportunities.

You have some really great ideas Joseph...a very creative mind.
Will find a bigger mirror and try some more shots.
Thank you :)
