Still not used to many of cs3 functions, passed this mill many of times and always thought that telegraph pole spoils a good picture,so I had a go at cloning it out what you think.

The first shots is well done. Not sure the differance in the second shot, but everything looks haloed like it was oversharpened. Not sure if thats what happend, but for what it's worth, I love the look of the first one better. The softness of the straw in the yard is beautiful. Very nice photo. Wonderful lines in this shot, flowing.
As for the cloning, it's a good attempt for sure. I can see some repeating patterns that probably wouldn't be there normally. I don't think a person would ever notice that though unless they are looking hard for it, and that's what you want to accomplish. Cloing is certainly one of those things that you get better at the more you do it. Do that same thing to that photo in a few months of working with cloning, then compare the two. Try cloning out the garbage can and the other things in the drivway there. That would be tough.

I also like the first photo better. Only because of the softness to it. It gives it a romantic look. This is a mill? How cool. As far as the cloning, I can tell that it was cloned, but only because I know where I am looking. It would just look like a brick pattern to somebody who was not aware of it first.

I like the first shot as well. Honestly, I didn't even notice the pole until you mentioned it. These two photos would make a great exercise to learn how to critique photos. For today's lesson, I failed. :)

Cloning is very tedious work. You did good for your first attempt but it is obvious where you did it. To be honest, I don't mind the pole at all...I don't like the trash can or the trash. If it were me....and I'm not known for being shy.....I would go up and let them know that they had a beautiful building and get their permission to photograph it....let them know they would be getting a print for themselves....and then ask if it would be ok to move the trash cans and bags. Just how I would approach this opportunity but then I don't get many opportunities like this...the cows don't give a hoot if I photograph them...

How can cloning be to take out,I always looked at it as copying or duplicating?
