I got a positive response to a private request I sent to another PP member to where I requested permission to edit their photo to use as an exercise for me.

I like the idea of having a section to where people can submit their photos to invite people to play with it and resubmit for review.

We could all learn from the different behaviors expressed through each revision.

Let me know what you think.

It was very nice and wise of you to ask for permission. Some people do not mind and indeed enjoy it, whereas others are not comfortable having their pictures manipulated by others (the last one would be me). I don't really think we need a special section for this, just do as you did, ask in public or private, if it is ok. The normal CC sections we have should be more than adequate. :)

I always thought this would make a fun monthly contest. Admin submits a photo and everyone that wants to enter downloads it and does what they want wit it.

I think both suggestions (specific section and monthly contest) would definatly help those of us who maybe haven't got the grasp of photoshop or similar (by that I mean me!!! :) ). To see what other people do to enhance their photos and how they do it would be great. I appreciate anyone showing me how I can improve my photos in PP.

I really like that idea as a monthly contest subject as well. We'll see what is decided. :)

Way back when, I think this may have been discussed. I think it's a great idea to see what others come up with and how they perceive how a photo looks. And yes - it's ALWAYS a good idea to get permission to manipulate someone else's photo.

I had something like that on another site; it was a lot of fun. Someone would submit a shot, then everyone would edit, and the initial person would pick a winner. That winner would then submit the next shot and judge the next contest.

Dick - trying to catch up on posts. I only worked on one. Cropped tighter, adjusted levels a bit, then sharpened. Let me know what you think.
