Here's a simple picture (http://www.proudphotography.com/forum/gallery/files/3/8/2/7/081116_0054.jpg) of a Buddha statue that I took at Seoraksan in Gangwondo, South Korea. The statue itself is approximately 30-40 feet tall (9-12 meters). Let's see what people can do with it!

When I was playing with it I just extended the free space to the left, giving the statue the impression that it was looking beyond the picture. Also, I changed the color of the background to a stark white.

nice ,I like the sun shing off the jewel and you added the refracted light circles too?? very kool.
I too really enjoy that. Could you post how you did it?
Maybe that could be part of the edits of this "challenge category" - posting the steps that you went through to create the new picture, so that others can attempt to duplicate it. I for one would love to know how to add the light circles!

I applied different shading, lighting and contrast.
Do you think by cropping, flipping and manipulating this picture the way I did really takes away from the art of photography?

I added a basic grad filter in lightroom, then adjusted colour and sharpness using CS3 and then I added extra sharpness to the jewel then used lens flare in filters of CS3 adjusted to 100 and placed cross hair in centre of jewel.
Hope this helps a little.
