What's a good camera to start out with for those of us who don't know anything about cameras? lol I've played around with an SLR camera, but I know NOTHING about it and keep simply using auto mode for everything, and even that seems to be a little confusing to me for some reason. lol I'm so used to my little point and shoot camera.

Hi Rachelle - if you really want to learn how to use a camera besides your Point and Shoot I recommend reading all the photography sites' photo tips and learn about aperture and shutter speed so that you will be more comfortable using other settings. Even with your P&S, learning about how the camera works will help you understand what it is automatically setting in some of the other auto modes like portrait or sports. Then, when you are more comfortable with the concepts an SLR will mean more to you. I have a Canon XSi and love it - my step-daughter has been using a Canon XT which is a little less expensive now and she loves it. She uses it in a media-arts school in her photography class, so really knows what she's doing and is happy with its capabilities.
