Not really the purest form of art, nor a true abstract, but it is somewhat artistic and abstract in it's outcome...

This car is a picture that I took at the Montreal car show last weekend and is just "HDR enough" to look HDR without going overboard on the effect.

The tilted angle adds to this somewhat abstract effect.

Edit: The attachment below is to the same, but bigger picture on flickr... having some issues about people seeing this pic on here but not while on flickr... strange.
Hopefully all is good now.

Jerry - where is the picture???

That was strange. I came here today (a day later) see the picture, check the access rights on flickr (all good) and the pic disappears. I re-edit the link (did not change), and refresh... pic is back.

Can you tell me if the pic is visible now for you? It is for me.

Not visible for me - do I have to go to Flickr to see it?

Thanks for letting me know it was causing issues still. :)

Well here is the flikr link:
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3115/3214580406_311e38cc59_b.jpg

It is the link as used above. Possibly if you are behind a corporate firewall or something, they could be blocking it, but if you are at home or not behind a strict firewall, you should be able to see it above.

Edit: I changed the pic in the post for a smaller version and "attached" the larger pic to open in a new window. Both are from flickr of the same pic (different sizes).

I wonder why this one is giving me issues??

Jerry - I saw the picture after you responded to my post without a problem and I'm at work.

Strange. I am wondering why trulight could not see the pic, then?

Hey Jerry,

I think you're close as far as my HDR tastes are concerned. I still think you could push the shadows and (especially) the highlights a bit more out. Particularly the blacks on wall behind the car to help the car stand out from the busy bg. I might also have a look at cropping out those ceiling lights. You'll lose the Scion sign in the bg (which adds context), but the eye will have an easier time staying down on the car.

Just my two cents.

Thanks for the comments. I was playing around, and decided to go another route. From the rather overdone HDR route, right in the opposite direction... turning a pic into a sketch:

Ok, it is official, this photoshoping thing just got fun. :D

How about something between pastel paints and reality?

Ok ok... I'll stop now... lol!

Hey Jerry,

That bottom pastel one has the subject/bg separation I think the car needs. Cool stuff.
