Looking for opinions on this Photograph. Looking for it's elements of composition. I'm trying to practice people photography and practice using my new speedlight. I'm trying to get a photograph that falls in the rule of thirds. I think this one does but I'm not positive. Please help and let me know what you think. If it makes the cut then I will use it as one of my photographs for assignment 5.

I looked at your photo and I like it. It shows some good imagination and creativity. If you ask me if it’s a good candidate for rule of thirds, I would say it isn’t.
It reminds me of another photo that was just put up for CC with a piano player and piano, and the question was asked if it would be a good photo to turn in for the rules of thirds assignment. It was also a good photograph too but I didn’t feel would be a good candidate to show you understand and can execute a photo that clearly shows RoT.
I ran it through PS and the levels are just a little off on the right(highlights). Once I corrected the levels it did look better.
I’m not opposed to cropping out some of the subject if it doesn’t help what you’re trying to express, but I do feel her hand and fingers are important in this capture, and too close to the top of the photo. Her index finger would have been nice to see there. If you were to add a frame to this, you would lose half of her middle finger and would look amputated and disconnected from the rest of her hand. If it were me I would also crop out about half of the dead space on the right of the photo.
I like the angle of the guitar and the fact that the model looks comfortable and poses well. Once the levels are corrected a little this might be a good photo for the B&W lesson later in the course.
Over all I really like this photo. It’s just a few small things I noticed and could comment on. And as always, this is just one mans opinion. That’s the beauty of photography; Its art and very subjective.
Congrats on a nice capture.

The pictures that you are taking are not really rule of thirds because the subject is simply way too big and it takes up the whole picture.Imagine a tic tac toe board.Put your main subject in one of the corners but pretend you cant draw in the square and just put it on the lines.that picture of yours has its subject,if you backed way up and saw her on a stage with these mountains or trees and then a great sunset. She would sit either in the bottom right or bottom left and then most likely that would be rule of thirds. That make sense?,I tried.hope it helps.
