Hi all,
Just joined today and am looking forward to viewing and communicating with all you great "photogs" out there. Here's a few pics I hope you like. Nature slows down your life when you photograph it.
thanks,
Stevet

Welcome SteveT,
I relatively new here myself but I'm thoroughly enjoying myself. Did you start the course?
Your shots are nice, they are a breath of fresh air and the promise of spring. I don't live in a place where it snows but we do get freezing weather that turns everything an unattractive shade of brown. I long for green... Your shots gave me some, thanks!

Welcome SteveT and also Lisette as you are fairly new also.
I will try to add another breath of fresh air...

Here's my first try at posting one of my shots on PP.
Welcome Regis. I love this shot - love the colours and depth of field. Let's see some more!

Here's one of my favorite shots!
Flora and fauna are my favourites
Again, absolutely wonderful Regis.
Love the eyes.
I will leave any real critique for the masters, but in my opinion, I thought just a hint of contrast might have just finished it off, perhaps with a very very light touch of "burn" on the white in beak area.
I still look forward to more...

Hi everyone, I havent been on here long iether, I have a passion for photography, and I do a lot of children portraits but i follow the growth of the orangutans at the perth zoo. There was a recent addition, a little female, who hasnt been named yet but i was priviliged enough to be able to get some pictures recently.
Hi kmonaco,
Welcome firstly.
Secondly, this is a beautiful shot. I personally would like to see just a touch more exposure/brightness, but it is just lovely.

Thought I would join in...........here is another orangutan shot. Taken at the Tanjung Aru reserve in Borneo. This one is a four year old male, orphaned due to both his parents being killed by deforestation....

Here is one of my favorite shots. I hope you like it. I had to stand on a lawn chair in front of my window to get it!

Hi
I think all the shots on here are just great and all the wildlife shots are my favourites.
Every Photo looks great when it comes out of the camera but it is surprising what you can do with editing. I am still trying to get the hang of it myself:)
Loved looking at all the photo's and looking forward to seeing more.
Well done all Xx
HAPPY NEW YEAR :)

Ingrid, this is beautiful. Love the colours.
I love macro, and also love the heat, and would love to live in the tropics. You have so much colourful animal life there, whereas in Sydney they all seem drab!

Lovely picture, Sandy. Can't believe I missed it. Did you apply the Orton Effect to this?

Hi Eddie,
Thank you so much for the compliment! This was a case of a few older photos I had taken, and with what I've learned in the course, and the forums here, I went
back and was able to merge them for the panorama, then edit with the Orton effect, and a few minor adjustments. I'm glad you liked it!
I'm an old picture taker hoping to learn to be a photographer.
I recently received a Nikon D90 as a gift from my husband so I am trying my darnest to learn it. I have always been a point and shoot picture taker. Here are a few on my nature shots..
Would appreciate any feedback anyone would like to give. Thanks

Welcome to the forum Jennifer. I hope you enjoy the course, but remember you can do it at your own pace.
We all look forward to ANY shots you would like to post, as this is also a great way to learn from the other members responses. Have fun and enjoy learning.

Hi all, not certain if I even should put anything in here, looking at your fantastic pictures, compared to my very humble ones.
I have sort of recognized however, that I do seem to pull towards Macro photography (even though I do not have a Macro lens yet :( ), and there is no better learning curve than (hopefully positive ) criticism, so here goes ... have mercy

Another couple I would really like to share:
Especially the last 2 I really like, because of the sea of bluebells it is almost like the trees are floating
Hi Fred,
You have some nice shots here. I also have a great passion for macro and cannot leave it alone, but I am not expert.
If you would like some critique, it would be good to post these to Nature & Animals in Critique Corner.
But I must say that the bluebell shots are beautiful.
I may be wrong, but I think your second shot in second series is a Flowering Quince... ? Very nice.

Hi Kaye, thanks for your comments.
Will start posting in the critique corner once I got the right lens, but I have to admit, you start looking at things with a completely different eye.
The other thing that has really got me thinking now is Joseph with his drops .... ohoh
Hi Fred,
I will certainly look forward to heaps of your posts in critique corner.
About Joseph and his drops... I am not sure how much experience you have had at this stage.....
but what Joseph does (in my opinion), is real fine art, mixed with years of practice and some scientific knowledge on this subject, and also many, many hours of thought before even thinking of the first attempt. Then again, many, many hours of organisation and set up of equipment.
You should read all his (Joseph's - "Coffee") posts on this, and also, some of the links he has posted. They are just amazing.
