I found a website called swoopo.com.
I have never heard of it before and wanted to know if anyone has ever bought anything off of it?
They are amazingly cheap auctions that you bid on, and they auction brand new cameras. I would love to bid for my dream camera on it, but I am scared to try it.
Does anyone know about this website and it if it is safe?
Thanks

I don't know. I haven't heard of it and it seems iffy. The clock on one of the items started over after it reached 13 seconds. I imagine there is a minimum or something before the auction can be considered over. Also, having to PAY for each auction seem weird to me.
Let me know what you find out though.

It seems they are legit. But read this. It explains how they work. Not something I will be getting involved in.

o.k., thank you! I couldn't find anything about the site, and checked snopes.com, and the Better business bureau, and couldn't find anything, so I think I will just stay away from the site. It doesn't sound like it is a well known site or anything either. I am so weary of e-bay and all the other sites like that too, so I will just stick to the safer way of buying things, and not by the internet.
Thanks again!

I would say proceed with caution. Check this out:

Anytime I am going to deal with a new company I always google the name of the company with the word feedback (ex: swoop.com feedback) you will be amazed at what you find sometimes.

You can get great deals on things at swoopo, but it's like gambling and every time you bid it actually costs you. The more you bid the more it costs and the auctions just don't end, as more people bid they add time to the auction, making this a very difficult way to win.

At the end of the day if you win , you end up paying regular retail if not more. My advice would be stick to the big boys like Ebay or Yahoo auctions.
