Will someone further explain this:

Quote from Text:

MODE 2: Corrects vertical camera shake during following shots in a horizontal direction and corrects horizontal camera shake during following shots in a vertical direction.

I think what this is saying is that if you are moving the camera in either a vertical or horizontal motion and taking successive shots that the IS is correcting the shake of the camera in the word definition opposite to the movement of the camera,,,,,,,,,is that right?

If the answer is right then no explanation is required if wrong then what does it mean?

Thanks
dick

The way I take it Dick, and the way I use it, is if you are panning in either the vertical or horizontal direction, you will want to be in Mode 2. And I'm sure you know by now that mode 1 is used to correct camera shake for stationary subjects.
