Before voting on any image in the POTM you are able to view not only comments for that photo, but also that photo's current voting score.
So that there is no influence on you before you vote, I would suggest these two items not being able to be viewed until one cast their vote on that image. Once someone votes on an image, or the voting ends, then this info can be seen to read comments, and to compare your vote to the photo average.
Many times I found myself looking at an entry, seeing what the average score was, and trying to figure out how that image could have gotten such a high/low average compared to how I would rate it. In the end, I would always rate how I liked, and not let what I saw influence me, but I can see how it would be easy to be influenced.
