Weekly Photoshots New #3--- Crystal (19.3.09)

Hi All,
I was looking to take a few shots and did not want to go out, so I looked around the house. I found some old CRYSTAL ORNAMENTS. You could use either ornaments or crystal glasses, jugs, etc. It may be interesting to see different types of lighting, colours and backgrounds.
I gave it a try using a black background.
I have attached my 3 shots, the "salt & pepper in the shoe" being the oldest. It is probably an antique by now.
It may be interesting to see what you can come up with.

Here are my crystal shots. Only wish I could get a better backdrop. Is there a way to clean up the background in PSP?

Sorry, I can't help with PSP..I'm sure there is a way but I don't use the program. But...try adjusting your exposure compensation a bit on the minus end and see if that doesn't make your black background a bit more on the black side instead of the gray side. I like the crystal with the red disk in them...especially the middle one. Nice and sharp.

I also like the red one in the middle. I do agree, the others would like clearer if the black was blacker!
In Photoshop you can clone the dark black background over the light bits.
