Hi all..

i will travel to Malaysia am planning to buy a lens so i don't have to take with me a lot of lenses
what do suggest

budget until 400$

Depends on the quality you want and what you will be shooting. Honestly, for $400, you are not going to get a lens with a high quality level.

I don't know if Nikon has an equivalent, but Canon makes a 50mm 1.8 that is a great lens and less than $100.00. I may be not be wide enough for a walk around lens, and certainly longer than you may want inside at times, but the quality and cost is wonderful. Oh and extremely light too.

They do, we call it the plastic fantastic, its under $120, but for travel, one wants a broad range of versatility... maybe something like the 18-200... but thats more than double the $400 budget. The best walk-around lens anywhere, but still has it's limitations.

there was a lens for nikon maybe about 18-200 something like this it was about the same price that i want to buy it's ok if it's 500$ but not more, cuz i want it just for traveling with a good good quality i want it too shooting ppl, nature scene, animal ... everything you know Malaysia you want to take a shot for everything
please mention the name of it i will search it in ebay maybe i will find a used lens looks new

18-200mm.3.5-5.6 VR its a very nice lens .itll run 550-600.You can check craigslist or ebay and you could get for maybe 500.At your price level you could get a very nice sigma in 3.5 -5.6 range.They make many at like 449
