A $75 piece of plastic that you put over your flash to diffuse it. ;)

I just looked it up, clever little device. Goes into the hot shoe, cool. It looks like it's under $20.00 though. Also looks like something my wife has in a box under the bathroom sink ;) Just a joke people; settle down :p
The Puffer works well, I rarely use a flash, but the times I have, the rebels xti's pop up was just too harsh. This puffed shape white plastic piece that snaps into a hot shoe bracket is held about an inch away in front of the flash and catches all the light then disperses it more evenly across the subject. While good for an object a few feet away, it is not very useful on further away objects. The difference is obvious when comparing photos that use the puffer vs the straight pop up. The puffer cuts some light but evens out the hot spots, I got mine for $25, and it's a good thing to have if you are using the pop up flash. ~ peace tjd

Welcome to the group! I've researched the Puffer a couple times but never got around to ordering one. I think they would be nice to have for those times when you need flash and don't want to use an external. Sometimes....its just too much to carry around. Such as when I'm at my grandson's school for grandparents day...I just want some good, exposed shots of him and I and his classmates....don't want to lug in all my equipment and set up for a professional shoot. Hope you enjoy your stay here!
