I've read a lot on this and am considering it for the future.
Just wondering is someone that's been using this format can tell how you like it and if you've had issue, and anything else you want to add. Thanks

Hi Joseph, As I know it, DNG is a general purpose Raw File Format developed by Adobe and is one of the two raw format options on Pentax DSLR's , the other being pentax's own PEF. I use the DNG when shooting raw and Elements (and I presume other PS applications) can open them. To me the quality and adjustment options seem fine but would not know how they would compare to other applications. I understand that Adobe are trying to make DNG the industry standard.

DNG is a proprietary format that belongs to Adobe. Adobe will tell you that you should convert all your files to their format for "future protection", but I save all my files in RAW format and then the same in JPG. The only time I will consider saving it in TIFF or DNG is if the photo has many layers or lots of time/work invested in it. Other than that, RAW/JPG is way more than good enough.
RAW is readable by most all of my photo editing apps. DNG is a format readable only by Adobe applications. That tells you that there is a lot more marketing than fact right there. ;)
