I love getting new lenses becuase not only do they add a different dimention to my photography, but playing, learning, practicing and finally getting some nice shots from them is a tremendous amount of fun. :D

Congratulations Mary - just like Christmas. So far, I don't have a lens that's worth more than the camera. Can't wait to see what you produce!!

This is my first 'good' glass, other than my little 50mm but it doesn't count cause it was cheap! :) I can't wait to get it and try it out. I was so unhappy with my 'cheap' 75-300, that I decided you were right...your images need 'good' glass to shine. I was so clueless when I purchased my first dslr and just bought what the guy at the counter said was popular...I realize now that it wasn't popular because of quality, it was popular because of price. See, Jerry, I do listen, once in a while!

Yes, it is....except it wouldn't have been possible if it weren't for the leg injury. Since I'm on Work Comp, I don't have to take my vacations during this period. Since I'm scheduled for vacation in a couple weeks and won't be off crutches yet, I opted to just take the pay...made it possible for me to have Christmas in May! Yipppee.
I've really noticed the difference in the 75-300 and my 50mm and my 18-70mm...the 50 is tack sharp (well, it is if I focus properly...:() and the 18-70 isn't too bad but that 75-300 is yucky...this new G had better be as good as reviewed....:) Then all I'll have to blame is me!

Wow, very exciting. I assume a G lens is the Canon's equivilent of the L series lens?

Humm....not sure...I just know its one of the better lenses for the Sony...not Carl Zeiss quality but it will be a long time before I can afford one of those. It's not even the top of the line of the G series...in fact, its the bottom of the line..:( I can't afford the $2000.00 lenses...:(

Which 'G' lens did you purchase?
