I finally made it out for a bit of fun...still on the sticks but its getting closer to the end. I've photographed this old beetle a couple of times and never get it quite right. Still keep trying...anyway I was attempting a black and white when I backed off the saturation and let the green grass still show...what do you all think?

And...I'll repeat this always....do not be nice..I can never improve if I don't get honest criticism. I'm a big girl and I can take it!;)

Hi Mary I like this, I tried it in black & white (hope you dont mind) but much prefer the way you have backed the saturation off.I never thought I would see the day that a car looks sad I don't know why but it just does not look happy lol.Are they bullet holes in the side and if so I guess that would make anyone unhappy...

No, I don't mind at all, Owen...that was my original intention...to do it in black and white but when I was playing around, using the desaturate tool (I don't usually use this tool except to get an idea as to how it would look in B/W) and was moving the slider down toward the bottom, I happen to like this look with the green still showing. I then boasted the contrast in the trees a bit and played a little with the red channel...gave it a bit more warmth.

Yes, It is definitely not the love bug, is it...or maybe it was and it came to a very sad ending. :( I'm going to get back out there with my new lens and my tripod to see if I can get it clearer. Maybe then I'll take it all the way to B/W.

Thanks for the kudos!

Nope, one more week...don't tell, but I've kind of started walking a bit without them. Just here in the house and not very far but wanted to know how the knee was going to react and its seems to be doing pretty good.

My reaction to old vehicles is the same as old houses or buildings...what was life like back then when it was all new. Think about the bug....was it a young, married couple buying it off the show room floor? Was it their first new car? Was they scared they couldn't make the payments or had they diligently saved to buy it? My sister in law bought a brand new bug when she got out of high school with rear suicide doors..that was a few years ago...1965. We still talk about it when we all get together.
