I downloaded a trial version of PS Elements 7 yesterday and tried to change colour photos to sepia ... the results were disastrous.
Any tips as to how to do this? I'm sure it's got to be pretty simple, but was a little overwhelmed with all the tools, etc.

Melanie - I haven't tried a sepia effect with Elements. In doing just a tiny bit of looking, but others have not had much luck either and instead have used a "plug-in". I have used plug-ins for Photoshop but not Elements, so I'm not much help there.

Try this - from the layers pallet select the half white half black circle then select Hue Saturation. Turn on the Colrizatioin checkbox, set the Hue to 25 and the Saturation to 25. Hope this helps Melanie

This IS the best way that I use for sepia-toning. Otherwise use the following tutorial to get your head around this :)

Thanks all!!! I would have to go back to see exactly how I managed it, but I did get the sepia effect on the pictures that I wanted. Will use this way the next time.
