OK... this maybe the inappropriate place to put this, but I'm desperate. I was just
messing around today with a new camera I purchased from a friend. It's a Nikon
D200 and simply had it set to P - Program setting. The camera does the "work"
so to speak for the operator. I went to download them and they're all incredibly
blue in appearance. Any suggestions? Being new to PPCourse, I'm still chugging
along in chapter 3 and can't move ahead yet. ANY feedback would be MOST
appreciated.

I've taken the liberty and attached a sample of what I'm talking about. I'm shooting
video for a client this Monday, and was asked to shoot photo's of their product.
Oops! I can't shoot product if my photo's look like this, eh? LOL

HELP!

Hi Doug,
The P mode is not the same as the white balance settings. The program mode will is more for exposure. What this image has is a white balance problem. Bright cloudless days in the afternoon will give you these really blue images white the white balance set in auto or daylight. Setting the white balance to shade or cloudy will help warm up the tones, but a custom white balance is best. You'll need to look at the camera's manual to find out how to set white balance.

If you were shooting in RAW this is a very easy correction for photoshop. If you were shooting in JPG you can still correct the white balance, but they may not be as accurate.

Attached is a quicky correction.

After I posted this thread, I laid in bed trying to understand my dilemma. I figured
it may be a white balance issue. Thank you for your prompt response, Larry. That
has confirmed what I thought it was.

I know you were looking for information and not necessarily an edit but I was curious to see
if the image itself could be rescued to a reasonable degree. The darker areas took a beating
in the process but a lot of the original image information seems somewhat recoverable.
