Hello,

I'm fairly new to DSLR. I purchased my Olympus E-520 last fall.

It came with two lenses:
- 14-42mm
- 40-150mm

I don't do macro so that's not an issue for me. But I do like to take candid shots of my family and my dogs.

I find I use the 40-150mm most of the time, but it does not always allow me to get close enough.

I guess I'm looking for the perfect all around, walk around lens. I saw the 18mm-180mm. Its not cheap but it looked right.

Is this the way to go? Or maybe once I've learned my basics better, I can make my existing lenses work better for me?

I appreciate all your comments
Thanks in advance

Hi,
If this is a digital lenses this is a good start. You have the wide angle for Landscapes and the zoom to get closer. I own an 18-250 and love it..

So are you saying that I should work with my current lenses, or should I spend the money on the 18-180 to get better coverage?

I don't like to switch lens as I like to travel light and be a little sponteneous, so I'm really looking for the ability to set up a shot and take it with a multi-purpose lens.
