Very sweet shots Owen. Your Daughter is so precious. Has anyone told you you look like the singing/preformer Phil Collins :)

Yes I know what you mean, didn't Phil Collins play Buster a Gangster.
Not that I am trying to cast aspersions so to speak.

Owen, for self portraits these are exceptional. I love the tenderness you captured in each of them.

Owen, I think they are absolutely beautiful shots of you and your daughter. She has such beautiful big beady eyes.
I do not know much at all about portraits, so I am certainly not sure what to suggest as far as a different background goes, but I would try perhaps a plain natural outdoor scenery background or a more vibrant colour indoors.

Owen, these are great! I think you did a wonderful job of capturing both of you. You kids are so cute! My only suggestion, and you can take it for what its worth, is maybe moving further away from the curtain....then it would blur out more and be less noticeable. But, I'm sure your wife is tickled pink to have these shots.

I love these, so cute!
The blue eyes are an amazing color and realy add to the pictures, especially the first one.
My favorite background color for these types of shots is black.
Backdropoutlet.com is a great website to buy backdrops and props. I find a lot of their stuff on ebay and its the same price, but a lot of times the shipping is so much less.
I just used a black sheet at first, got it at walmart for $8, and you can darken it in any photograph software to make it less noticeable as a sheet, without disturbing the rest of the image to much. Just by using a contrast button, and then darkening the shadows a bit.
Also, Adorama.com sells background paper for about $20 for a roll. I haven't used the paper yet, but I would imagine it would give a realy clean background.
Looking forward to seeing more pics of your little one too, she is a doll!
