View Full Version : Midweekly Photo Shoot, - Water Drops 22/07
OK, Kaye. Good idea. Got drops? A leaky faucet? A macro of the mist off Niagra or Victoria Falls? A raindrop that keeps falling on your head? A tear in your eye? Consider this home. Let's see if we can get into the Guinness Book of World Records for the most photo's of water drops uploaded to a thread entitled "Midweekly Photo Shoot, -Water Drops 22/07".
This is a pic of some sort of lawn spiderweb with raindrops....
Good on you Pat. This may prove to be a good thread. I'm not sure that I should post my other Pink flower water droplet again, but will post another... not as good, and no amazing "refraction".. I will keep trying. I am already thinking about how I will set this up.

Another nice one, Kaye. And is that a '57 Chev with a continental kit snapdragon?

Hi steph. That's a beauty. I've tried similar stuff but A): the water here just dosen't seem to be as viscous as in the rest of the world, and B): I've shot approximatelly a quintillion frames trying to catch drops in flight and just can't seem to snag 'em, so I do admire those who can. Good one.

I guess, as a newbie, I'll jump in and get my feet wet (ummm...no pun intended ;))
Although I couldn't find anywhere on the forum if the image had to be a current capture. This one is almost two years old so delete it if that is not ok.
Hi anni, and welcome. Your drop's a beauty. What is the image in the drop?

Hi anni, and welcome. Your drop's a beauty. What is the image in the drop?
Thanks Pat. The image is a house.
I'm thinking I should go out and do a current shot. It rained overnight so maybe I'll put the macro lens on for this morning's romp through the neighbourhood. :)
Hey, nice web water shot, eagle.
Anni...loved your flickr pics. How'd you make out on your romp?
Thanks for your comment, Cathy. "Drop" in again :P.
And here's another web one I had kicking around...

Hi Pat.
I loved your second image with the multiple drops. That is really unique and unusual.
The romp went well. I kept hoping the sun would break through the clouds to add some sparkle but it didn't happen until the very last few images I took. Here are three of the better results. Thanks for visiting my Flickr site. :)

Hi Anni,
I love this shot. I may have missed reading something in this thread, but I can see clearly a house upside down with trees. And the stars just set it off. Wonderful!
HOW DID YOU DO THE STARS ??
I like this shot Kaye...there is a sense of tranquility about it :)
Thanks eaglesview for your comment.
I missed your comment initially, as I just flicked passed my image and did not realise.

Hi Kaye,
The stars are a natural occurrence when the sun is on the opposite side of the drop you're shooting.
I wandered over to your blogspot link. What wonderful images you have captured! I'm going to love browsing through your pages there today. :-)

I have a couple. :)
Am i allowed to put them both in? Delete if i'm not.
Sadly i haven't been able to capture them just falling as you all have, though i thought the amount of droplets on these provided some interesting shots.

Hi Mel. Good ones. Nice texture on the leaves in the second.

One of my favourite things to photograph. I love water drops.
I have three, I hope this isnt going over the rules. If they are just delete them.
Hi Kathleen. Good ones. Nice colour.
I haven't come across anything that would indicate a limit. It's not a competition like Photo of the Month, so there'd be no reason for a limit.Speaking of reason, though, if you posted forty or fifty your audience might go away. :)

Hi Mel. Good ones. Nice texture on the leaves in the second.
Thanks :)
At first, when i came across the dead leaf with the water droplets, my mum picked it off just before i had a chance to take it.
I was like "noo. I wanted to take a picture of that!"
Luckily there was this other one on another leaf.
And thank you Joseph
