I have been looking into possibly taking this course but I want to hear about what the positive feedbacks are. How long are the sessions that you are required to do, do you have to do quiz, tests, etc...
What are the tutors like?
How long do you wait for them to check your pictures?
Do you get the "one on one" with your tutor?
And any other info would be great! I am thinking of maybe enrolling in Sept.

Hi Kathleen, I am taking the course right now.
I would have to say the lessons are as long as you make them to be. It is work at your own pace, but it says you have a year to finish it.
At the end of each section there are a question or a couple of questions to answer.
Some of the lessons you turn in shots, others are called "feedback" activiities where you do not turn in any shots, but do take shots of what is required in the lesson and answer questions about it.
It takes just about 2 days to here back from assignments turned in (it has taken maybe a 1/2 day longer when I have turned in on the weekend/holiday)
When I have had questions sometimes I have had a response within minutes and other times days.
Between the tutor and this forum all of my questions get answered!

Great to have you here Kathleen,
I'm on chapter 8 of the course and have enjoyed it thoroughly. You get as much out of it as you want ... meaning you can take lots of pictures for each lesson and self-analyze or post the pictures to the forum for comments and critiques if you wish; or you can fly through the lessons that you're already comfortable with. The turnaround has always been reasonable (mostly 48 hours with a few exceptions).
As for "one on one" time with your tutor ... this is where I have the most difficulty. It's certainly not like learning in a classroom environment, but all my questions have been answered (even though there is no room for discussion on specific points - which is what I miss, I suppose). The forum is a great tool for discussion but sometimes falls short when noone else with the specific knowledge that you're looking for is online when you need answers.

Melanie,
How do you get around that? I mean the discussion on specific points which I too would really want as well.
What did you do in that situation when no one else was online when you needed those answers?
Just trying to be prepared :)

Mostly I had to learn a little patience !! :)
I emailed my tutor and we did go back and forth, just not quite as fast as I would have liked at the time ... In the end, I got my specific answers and some critique on pictures in my album that I wasn't planning to submit, but wanted some specific answers to.
The people on the forum are wonderful and very positive with their comments. I'm sure you'll learn a lot with the course if you decide to sign up! (I also found that I used my camera's manual a lot more - and UNDERSTOOD it a lot better. I'm constantly referring to it now, where it was too much before I started the course). The more I'm learning, the more there is TO learn :)

I'm a couple days late here...
I would say that this course was the single most important factor in improving my photography. Books are nice, but they don't look at your pictures and talk back. Taking lots of photographs is a great idea, and fun, but this wheel has already been invented and it is great to have someone standing alongside you guiding your hand and your tools.
The best money I spent on photography was right here, by far.

I think that if people did a search about all the other people who were thinking about starting and saw the positive reactions, that they would not hesitate to join. Photography is something that takes time, patience and a lot of practice. Though it was very rare that I did not get an answer as quick as I may have needed, I always got a good answer from my tutor here. While I was waiting... I was practicing! ;)
I do not think you will find one negative feedback here, and that is not becuase they were deleted or modified... there sincerely are no unhappy clients here. To me, that says a lot. I got a tremendous value for my money, a lot more for bang for my buck here than any other online course I could find.
I was very happy with the course and it's outcome.
