Two images of our local Suspension Bridge that spans wide road intersection. CC welcomed re compositional aspects of the images.
In the side view I've tried to contrast between the stillness of the ancient graveyard and the modern bridge with it's tram movement.
For the top view I've tried to incorporate LL & ROT.

Hi dal. The first one looks slightly underexposed to me. Mainly the sky strikes me as rather dull. Also, I think a good thing to avoid is having "stuff" (leading lines or whatever), emerging directly from the corners of a pic(unless a group spans the corner). Also, and this is the biggy for me, I think, in this case, there are too many leading lines. I found, as I relaxed and let my barely focused vision move into the pic (try it) I naturally wanted to follow the tracks but felt the upward pull of the bridge struts all along. Then there's the jet stream at the top. I think a good thing with leading lines is simplicity.I'm not a fan of the cubist pick-up-sticks theory of leading lines, being led hither and yon throughout an image. Into the image and/or to the subject Should be sufficient (imho), otherwise I'm being led a merry dance throughout like a Renaissance painting, but without the interesting symbolism.

I quite like the second. The only thing I might quibble with is the placement of the horizon too near the center. And perhaps I would have liked the framing pulled back a bit so as not to have the stone resting on the bottom of the frame, and the top of the tower cut off. Is this a crop/ Can you recrop to include a little more open space in the circumference and lower the horizon? That would be a good thing because I find the juxtapostion of the bridge and cloud formation forms an almost angelic form hovering over the graveyard. Tres cool.

Many thanks Pat for taking time to comment on the Images. This is exactly the type of feedback that will help. The images are as taken , straight out of the camera with no PP other than size reduction to post on the forum. Will look at your suggestion re cropping No2 and will post edited version soonest.
Kind Regards

Hi Pat
Quote "Can you recrop to include a little more open space in the circumference and lower the horizon". Had a look at actual shot taken and cropping is not an option, image posted was as shot. So I think I need to visit this site again and retake, keeping in mind your suggestions.

Will watch for a retake. Be tough to catch that cloud formation again, though.:)
