I think Joseph did a great job fixing the color in the first photo. It is so much brighter and clearer now.

Hi Kevin. A couple of points...
These are situated against not very attractive backgrounds and the framing and exposure is not all it could be. The sticks in the first are a distraction. Try to avoid placing your subject close to a wall when using the on cam flash to avoid that annoying close cast shadow, and consider taping a piece of tissure over the flash to soften the light for cute kitty pics.
You should consider taking the course , or check out some photography books from your local library.
Cheers...

Hi Kevin,

I couldn't really do a good "sitting pretty" because the color scheme is so different with such a dark subject. So I went
instead for deepening the coloring in the one laying down, and with warming up the one on the back of the couch. :)

thanks guys they are all great..i was pushed with this one as its a flat cat and the flat is very very small..because she was worried about it running away if we took it outside and it was made worse by it being so black and my goodness it could run and had loads of energy so i was lucky to get what i did..ive been looking at the courses you offer and they look great..but wasnt sure if they were open to me as i live in the uk

I just found what you're referring to and I'm looking it over and it seems to be covering most bases. The price isn't bad
at all either! I was a member of Lynda.com for a little under a year for my photo editing, and that one ran for $25US, for each
month. This one looks cheaper as for learning photography specifically. And when I joined National Association of Photoshop
Professionals, that alone cost me a $100 a year... and it looks like you may be able to get more out of this than I'm getting from that...

... I'm also thinking that since it's online it should be good for just about anywhere (except perhaps North Korea and some
areas of Afghanistan :^) so I would think the UK would be totally Okay...

But others here may be able to tell you more... these are my first impressions from reading their add... on the face of it
they look pretty good.... :^)

This one isn't nearly as complex as the last one but I couldn't resist!
I'm calling this one "Lazy Kitty" :^)

Kev, not sure if you got answer to question, the courses are available to anyone, anywhere, just sign up and pay fee.
You can then take it at your own pace,

Here are my edits.
The first one is your original with just the background light added and a little bloom.
The second one, I gave it some extra background light to show more detail, then I enhanced the eyes using the dodge and burn tools.
The third one is the same as the second one, only I added a layer for the background, and then used the bloom tool, to give it a bit of a glow, and then added the frames to both of them.
I have a kitty that looks just like this one, so cute!
Thanks for the opportunity to be able to practice some editing skills :)
