The last of the roses this season. Does the blocks on the right corner bug anyone? I can't seem to figure out what to do with it and I don't like it cropped out.

After seeing the color version first, I kind of like that one better. Those blocks don't seem to bother, but has me wondering what it would look like if the rose and its leaves had an all black background?

I like it the way it is. Adds a bit of texture to the background and completes a diagonal deliniation of light and dark in the background.

Mary, I completely agree with the last two comments by Owen and Pat.
As it is your shot, and you have edited it several times and looked at it too often (as we do), you start to wonder. But for us, who view it for the first time, I also really think it is lovely the way it is. The rocks don't bug me at all, and probably help with DOF, and if you got rid of them (which is a bit of work), I feel it would become more "plain" and FLAT.
I do like this B&W version more than the colour version.

Thanks, MJ for the look.

Thanks, Pat...I like the B/W the best but then I'm a avid admirer of B/W images. I appreciate the look and the comments on my images. I'm like every one else...still on the learning curve and any suggestions are appreciated in my quest.

Thanks, Owen...BTW...have you gotten rid of your Sony? Or am I mistaken and you never had a Sony?

Thank you, Kaye! It's always good to get comments on our images. I prefer this version to the colored one too.
