1 - Please be more specific as to what you want in terms of photoshop or a specific look

2 - Instead of sending us to a link of 50 or more pictures, pick ONE or TWO that you think is the best one. You know your friend better than we do.

3 - The bigger the file, the better the final result. Downloading a reduced file from photobucket is going to give you poor final results at best. Use something like a Flickr pro account and upload the full sized JPG (it would be even better if it was a RAW file hosted on a website somewhere)

Hi Citrine :^)

I gave it the more traditional look and picked out a few images that I thought complimented each other... Sorry to hear
that the kitten has left those who clearly cared for him!

Hope this is in the ballpark with what you're looking for!

What jerry said. Also, will you print it at home or have it done at a lab? (rgb or cmyk?)

You need to open the attatchment (looks like a paper clip - above!)

You're going to need bigger images, citrine. And they need to be at least 240 pixels/inch resolution. The standard is 300, but you can get by at 240. Steven's pics resolution is at 72 pixels/inch which will print out at about postage stamp size. jmtc's is the proper resolution, however the printed size will be limited to about 4x6.
You should check with your printer re colour mode. Most pro printers work in cmyk and these images are in rgb mode. If you have to do a last minute conversion you may well be disapointed in the rendition of the colours, as they may become muddy in the conversion process, Best to work in cmyk from the get-go if your printer requires it.

I'm glad that you can use it Kev! I was also pleased that you had so many pictures that I could choose from in working with this
composition. Pat had a good point with the resolution situation so I upped the original to 300dpi...

It's still in rgb.... I converted it to CMYK, which looks the same in photoshop but does go a bit muddy when viewed on the web.

I'll include that one here as well!

Thanks for carrying as much as you do for your friend Kev, and for passing along the opportunity to help!

Also...

I Loved!! your version of this Jim! Well done!! :^)

Hey, no prob, citrine. Speaking for myself, for somereason I didn't get the notification of your post yesterday. I'll have a crack at it in a bit.

Hi citrine. This is in rgb mode. I can change it to cmyk if needs be. It's sized for an 8x10 print, which is something to bear in mind as cam pics are (I believe) at a 4:3 ratio. If you try to print them at standard print sizes you will lose a bit on the edges or have blank spaces on a couple of edges.

thanks pat ..will turning it to cmyk enable me to print it in a bigger picture ..shes after something a bit bigger like a 12 x 10 or something around that

No citrine. cmyk is a colour mode and has no effect on size. I've resized it to 11"x14" which is the next standard size up from 8X12. I use genuine Fractals PrintPro for resizing. Does a much better job than Photoshop (tho I run it in Photoshop). You should check it out if you're going to be doing resizing for printing.
One minor problem. At 11x14, I had to save it at a lesser quality level than I'm personally comfortable with for making prints, due to Proud's 585 kb size limit. You might check with your printer to see if it's going to be viable.
I assume, if you're printer hasn't mentioned it to you, that rgb colour mode is ok. If not, let me know, and I'll change it to cmyk, or you can. I looked at it in both modes and the colour seemed constant.
Well, it seems we have another problem. When I load the image up to Proud it's 472 kb. Once it's attached it shows as 121 kb. If that's the case, I can't see it being fit to print at all. I have no idea why it would be reduced so much. I'll have a look after I submit this reply.

Yeah, it's way over the dimensional limit of 2000x1500 pixels (@ 4200x3300).
So, if you want to use it I guess we're down to three options. You can find a local source to blow it up to 11x14. Or you could get yourself a copy of Genuine Fractals PrintPro (or similar, but I believe Gen. Frac. is the best) and do it yourself. Or, if you pm me your email address I can send it as a file at full resolution.
