To me, I don't think the focus is that bad for the content. Portraits such as this should/can be soft and still have good impact on the viewer. Also as far as content/subject/expression/composition, I think it's absolutely perfect. I don't feel you can do better than what you have here. It's nothing more or less than a perfect moment, and a perfect capture.

The color again is similar to the boy and the gate where it seems to be a hybrid of muted color and mono tone. How are you getting this kind of tone? Are you applying an effect, or is it coming out of your camera like this? I'm not saying it's wrong or bad, I'm not sure how I feel about it really.

I hope this will be hanging on your wall at some point. Thanks for sharing it and congrats.

hey :D its an action .. its supposed to be vintage .. it only works on the right colours .. but i have been trying to get it so that the skin is not so pale .. its not supposed to look like selective colouring but its just not working 100% ..
