A picture of my daughter, the only light in the room is coming in from an open door.

Why, it's Santa's little helper, isn't it?
She's a sweetheart, MJ, with an endearing hint of the imp about her.
This is probably my fave type of child portrait. Kind of unstructured, good use of available light, showing a bit of the character of the child. Nice one.

I recognize her from the pink umbrella pic! Very cute portrait.

Hi Mj and hope you are well.
This isn’t always the easiest picture to capture, highlights can be overexposed and
shadows underexposed but you have a nice balance between the two, well done.
You have failed in another area, which is to recognise your daughter is obviously
angling to amend or increase on her Christmas wish list.
By posing for you and putting on her very best smile, you have to be aware that this
comes at a cost, next up will probably be her birthday, so be prepared :D.
I hope to see lots of Christmas family photos from everyone over the holidays.

She's a cutey and a nice capture. Mark really summed this up nicely. Personally, though the frame is nice, I would like to see it a bit smaller so she will fill more of the over-all image.

Hi Pat and Sandy - Thank You, I find I have better luck with shots of the kids when they are 'willingly' in front of the camera, she had said "Picture me Mom" when I had my camera out that day!

Hi Mark, Yes we are doing well, Thank You. Ohh Yes, I know about that angling, she just had her birthday last month is already working on what she would like for her next on!! For me, taking inside shots is quite difficult getting my settings correct and I was happy with myself on this one!!

Larry, Thank you, I have to agree that the frame is a bit large...I am trying to work on learning about the editing and unfortunately didn't see how to make that particular frame smaller.

Here she is in a different frame.

Hi MJ,

I really like your 2nd frame.....it accentuates the photo nicely.

I agree. I tend to like the minimalist when it comes to framing in the presentation of a photo. But then, everyone knows, we clowns are all about subtlety.

I agree, I like the second frame as well.

Nice pic
My initial thoughts on this purely as a viewer is that the shadow on the bottom left is distracting and spoils a great image.
