Love the themes!!! thanks.... Just one little thing!! Winter faces? We are in the middle of summer here in the southern hemisphere! Is it winter as the season or winter as in older people?

Hi Janine, by winter we mean snow&cold as is in a northern hemisphere right now. Winter in NZ is wonderful, but if you don't have any older photos from previous years to submit, then I guess your creative take on winter is acceptable too!

Just one point. As admin suggested, let your creativity take the lead here. Just because you don't have snow, or an actual winter climate doesn't mean that you can't submit a POTM photo. How about a still life of something that was to do with cold, winter? Do you have a snow globe, a parka, winter boots, ice cubes perhaps? Just a few examples of items that could make for a creative shot of some sort. It may be little more difficult to get a good shot for this month because of where you live, but not impossible with some creative thinking. Good luck.

Exactly what is meant by "Special Effects?"

Exactly what is meant by "Special Effects?"
I can tell you how I read it:
I read it two ways. Special Effects that you create to be part/all of an image, or Special Effects that are added after an image is taken. It could also mean Special Effects others create and captured by you. It could also be part/all of an abstract image I would think.
I really love the themes admin came up with or took from the members suggestions because they make the photographer think. Some of the themes are straight forward, others force you to put on your creative thinking cap when otherwise you might not. Hats off to Peter and crew.

I love the mix of themes here, and am looking forward to see what others come up with, and trying out a few of my own. It's a great way to think outside the box and take the kinds of photos you may not necessarily take normally.

Hi all, I posted a picture in the Dec POTM with a theme of HIGH / LOW. I'm looking at the other entries and I'm thinking I don't understand what they mean by high, low. Can someone clue me in so I post the appropriate picture. I thought they wanted something that was up high or down low and I think I'm wrong...Am I?
Thanks
Frank
