I was just wondering - now that we are in "digital age" how many of you would like to go back to the old days of film and lock yourselves in a bathroom with an enlarger and chemicals for a few hours?

I know I wouldn't

I love my darkroom equipment ! I had a complete darkroom in my other house, with a sink and everything. I still have all of my equipment. I loved the B&W photos better (I loved Ilford paper and chemicals) I had a lot of fun and it was nice to be able to go into a room that was quiet!

Hmmmm, I have never used a dark room. Whilst I suspect it is exciting watching your pictures develop, I dont think I would have the time to do it that way and I would probably loose interest!

However, having said that, the modern day equivelant of the dark room is photoshop dont you think? How many hours have you sat infront of the pc and "tweeked" with your images?

Technology moves on but we still sometimes have to play to get the exact image we want.

The difference with sitting in front of the computer is that the wife does not moan that she can not see me, (if I was in the dark room, i would be in there on my own) however, I can sit with my laptop on my knee, play with my pictures and hold a conversation at the same time!

And they say men are not multi-tasking:D

The only thing I would know how to do in a dark room is to switch the light on!

I think I'm happy in the world of digital.

I think I could say the same about my knowledge of photoshop.:D

However there are plenty of free tuturial guides out there on the WWW so I hope to become better at it as time goes on.
