how to select an area in a picture using photoshop but in easy way?

i used lasso tool but since it was handdrawn it's not tidy and pretty hard to use. Is there any way?

You can use the Rectangular Marquee tool, it is the second tool from the top.

Quick Mask Mode is one of the quickest ways to do this, but really the best method is using the Pen tool.:eek:

Pen tool definately, and make sure you have 'paths' selected. :)
