I don't want my photo taken!

Wondered what people thought of this shot. It was taken at The Good Life Orphanage in Mombasa in Kenya on a recent visit. Honest opinions please. Thanks guys.

jmtc, this is such a sad, but absolutely beautiful shot.
Stunning photography in my opinion.

You know that saying, "the eyes are the window to your soul" gives new meaning
with this shot. There's a lot of emotions caught up in that photo. Is there editing
in this photo? Looks like a radial blur around the edges, right? Pretty cool.

Yes there is editing involved. On a copy, I used G.Blur (8.8) then with a mask I let the eyes shine throuh at 100%, then took the % down to 50% and went around the ears and the outline of the head, then simply merged the two shots together!

Beautiful shot .....
This is what photography should be for me - you see what is already an instant worth capturing and then you 'interpret it' as you see it.

Not much of an expert yet on the technical aspects but as far as capturing a moment/expression/mood I think it is fantastic. It is something most people would relate to instantly and my mind can't help but add some imagined animation to this (like a lip tremble) - great portrait!

You have truly captured the 'pain' in those eyes. The face of a child, but the painful eyes of an adult. Powerful picture!
