Fun in the surf

Trying out new lens and trying to learn so spent some time down at the beach yesterday. No post processing (other than straightening) as working taking photos at the moment. All critique welcomed...

Nice series of images! I love the compositions in all. I get a real sense of healthy respect for the power of the water in no. 1.....also in no.3.... the surfers make it look easy out there, like there is nothing to it....not true, I'm sure!

I am certainly not qualified to critique on surf photography, but I do love these shots.

No. 3 wins hands down for me.
I think the first and second are... (I was going to say over-exposed), but I really think... after viewing properly in full screen), that this is not the case, but perhaps the angle of the light, which is no doubt difficult to avoid in shots like this (unless of course you use a filter...)

I do lots of macro and can change the lighting by the angle of my shot, but this is not really possible on a landscape shot.

I really enjoyed taking the pictures, and no 3 is also my favourite. I've actually got loads of shots of surfers and running at 3.7fps (or whatever it is) you get some really funny ones as the surfers fall in with bodies and boards going everywhere in the surf!

I'll definitely go back and do some more when there's some bigger surf.
