A few from from last weeks show. These shots were from the late afternoon. Riders have a choice over the jumps to take the easier route with lower jumps or harder with higher jumps. As I am learning...any suggestions for improving!

Nice shots MJ! It looks like you were right there in the ring? That must have been
fun......were you in there with other photographers? Just curious....

not an expert but I think the shots are really good. They look sharp to me. Have you ever tried panning a horse racing?

Hi Sandy, Thanks! No, I was along the rail, there wasn't anyone in the ring for this event taking pictures- the show photographer was outside the ring along the rail also.

Sandra, well Thank You. I have tried a few times to pan them, but it hasn't been very successful, I think it is because they have up/down movement along with going forward...and then it could just be me because I haven't tried doing it much.

Hi Elaine, All of these horses belong to others, I only know of the 4th one, he is from a farm not too far from ours.

As a -mostly- sports shooter, I know how hard it can be react to motion this fast and capture it well. You did a great job here. The first shot is especially excellent. The second seems slightly underexposed, but that might just be my monitor - I've been meaning to get it fixed / replaced for some time now. As for the fourth, it might have paid off to wait just a bit and clear the frame of the foreground blocking the action.

Anyway, though, I must say... The compositions are spot-on! To compose this well while accommodating fast motion is quite a feat! Congratulations! :) Very well done; hope to see many more from you in the future! :D
