Whoo hoo....finally got round to submitting the final assignment and got an overall 98.33% (which I'm really chuffed with!)
I got quite a lot from the course so thought I'd spend 5 minutes here and maybe explain my take on it for other people that are considering taking it.
The course was varied and I think I got an awful lot out of it. After upgrading my Nikon D80 to a D700 I found the "auto" setting wasn't quite the same and that I needed to learn about f-stops, exposure, focusing etc etc. So I entered the course as a point and shoot photographer and left it in what I now consider myself as an intermediate amateur photographer.
I think the biggest accolade I can give the course is that I now shoot mainly in MANUAL mode.
The course taught me about all the various aspects of my camera, what it can do and the various techniques to get different types of shots. It allowed me to go at my speed...no crucial deadlines to submit coursework which is a bonus for me as photography is just a hobby for me and hobbies are pursued...well..when I want to do it basically.
Greg was my tutor. I found his critques constructive and helpful. Having to submit photos as part of the course made me put that ittle bit more effort in and also got me out and about a bit more.
All in all....I thought it was great value and I've enjoyed doing it.
Hope to resume my foray into the forum again soon as there's a wealth of information in here too!
Well done PP and thanks.
I award you....100%
regards
