Hi Sandra,

I'd be happy to offer my thoughts. With your first shot, I think you have captured the concept of the rule of thirds. The picture of the flower is quite lovely, the detail is fantastic, and the DOF really makes the flower pop. Some people may have a preference for a longer DOF to see what else is in the frame that might enhance the shot. Personally, I like it the way it is - nice job!

With shot #2, I can see the fence acting as the leading line but it does not appear to lead my eye toward anything specific. The shot looks a bit busy and my eye is not sure of what to focus on once I get to the end of the fence line. If the house/building is the focal point at the end of the leading line, you may want to consider including all of it in the frame.

With shot #3, it looks like that large hanging branch is getting in the way of your framing and to me, it is more of a distraction. I see a second tree in the background, I wonder if there is a point of interest on either side that you can capture by changing your angle and shooting between those two trees.

I hope this helps, good luck with the lesson!

Hi Sandra,
I am also happy to offer my thoughts. I agree with what Eddie says and also love the first. Great job here.

#2 also agree the leading lines don't lead to anything specific. Trying to position the house near the end of the fence so that this becomes obviously the focal point. The use of the fence as leading lines is great though & I really like the detail of the wood that you have captured.

With #3 I think there is too much going on and I'm not really sure what you are trying to frame here.

I hope this helps & good luck.
