I am interested in taking an online photography course. My problem is that I can't make up my mind on which school....Proud or NYIP.
I would appreciate your feedback...Thanks....Deb

Thanks for your reply!
I guess my situation is...is would this class be the right one for me. I am just an amateur photographer who is an avid scrapbooker. I just purchased a micro 4/3 camera and really don't know how to use the manual functions. Would this class help me to become a better photographer with my recent purchase?

Hello Deb, welcome to the forums. You're not alone - lot of our members had faced the same confusion. There is a good thread about PP course vs. NYIP worth checking: http://www.proudphotography.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1872
Hope this helps.

Just a couple of more questions. Can you take the photography course and the Photoshop court simultaneously or should then be taken in a certain order? Lastly, is there any kind of discount if you take more than one course?

I believe you can take them simultaneously if you wish. You may want to consider taking the photography course first, then the Photoshop course. The photography course will help you focus on improving your skills with the camera. Photoshop will help you with your skills in the post processing. Good luck!

Take the PP course. I did, and I am pleased I did. I was going to take the NYIP course which in NZ would have been very expensive. After reading the experiences of other members of the forum I am very pleased with taking the PP course. One of the things the course did for me was how to use flash correctly. I hated flash and would avoid it like the plague. My flash photos were always rubbish. The course has a section dealing with flash, After taking that on board and the advice by some of the forum members I now have no problems taking photos using flash. I also found the course focuses your mind on what to take, I don't seem to end up with all the rubbish I seemed to have had before. I also recommend their Photoshop course. This will give you the basics and does save time by trail & error figuring out what to do. I also have elements 8 and although
the course is based on CS4 I feel some of the lessons can be applied to Elements 8. When I have the time I will be taking thier latest course on HDR, something I am not having fun with at the moment.

Thanks for your response. I did sign up for the Photoshop course, which so far I am very pleased with. When I got the Photoshop program, I have to tell you it really intimidated me! After 2 lessons in the Photoshop course I am realizing it really isn't that hard to use.
I am going to sign up for the Photography course as well. I'm just waiting until I get my new camera. I am debating between a Lumix GF1 and a Nikon D90....do you have any thoughts on these? I have never owned a DSLR so I really don't know which one to purchase.
