Hello, I'm just trying to get some input on these pics. where I tried different aperture settings on A priority mode. I'm not planning on turning these in, I'm just practicing. I shot these at the highest and lowest aperture settings. I've seen some photos where the background is real out of focus mine just doesn't seem out of focus enough. Help!!

Hi Gacop, if you kneel down & take the bottle with less grass and more of the shrubs in the background, you will notice the strong blurring effect. You have got it right by placing the object far from the background hence increasing the blur, but you have taken too much grass which is closer to the object so reducing the blur. If you look at the shrubs you will notice there is a good blur. Hope this helps.

Here's my two shots that made the light go on in my head re. aperture.

One is taken at f19 and the other at f4.5. You can see the f19 one has the firepit in the background in better focus, than the one at f4.5.

Crappy photos I know, but man did they make me go "Huh, that's how it works."

.... just to add, my intent was not to hijack gacop's thread, but to demonstrate aperture and those two photos of mine were the ones that finally made me understand.
Sorry to gacop if I stepped on your toes, it wasn't my intention.
