Please take a look at these photo's. I'm still on lesson for and trying to get a good blurry background.

This is a suggestion find a flower garden or vegetable garden. Stand at the corner focus on the plant closest to you and be as close as your lens will allow then take the picture then move your f stops up and down until you can see the background blurring if it is a bright sunny day you should be able to do a f5.6 and an f 22.
You should see the difference but do the ones in-between as well that will help at least it did me.

You can do the same with chairs and buckets and figurines, the flowers worked the best for me though – my assignment pics are in my file I got an 100 you can go look if you want.
